Brenna Huckaby started snowboarding about a year after her leg had to be amputated because of cancer.
“It took me a year for me to get my life back and find things that I felt passion with,” she said. “Nothing gave me the satisfaction that snowboarding did.”
She was always good at sports, and was a gymnast growing up, but she didn’t know if she would be good at snowboarding.
“When I started snowboarding and it wasn’t easy, I was like, ‘Oh, this is going to be my challenge. This is going to be something that I’m going to be good at,'” she said. “That was what drove me to be good at it.”
