The BC Games Society announced Thursday the sports that will be part of the games.

Athletes with a disability will compete in basketball, wheelchair basketball, cross country skiing, and figure skating, the Society says.
Up to 1,426 athletes, 261 coaches, and 246 officials will take part in the Games.
The Games are the first step for emerging athletes working their way to national and international success, the Society says. There were 22 BC Games alumni on Team Canada in the 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
“The opportunity the BC Games provides for the development of athletes, coaches and officials is translating in to the success of athletes on the international stage,” Kelly Mann, society president and cel, said in a news release.
“It is through the strength of the provincial sport system and the support of communities around the province that we are able to continue to inspire the next generation of athletes.”
The Games will take place Feb. 20 to 23.
